Investigating Well Spacing and the Solvent-Aided Process
The feasibility of using fewer wells in a steam-assisted-gravity-drainage (SAGD) project during solvent coinjection was investigated, which resulted in a field test showing that using a wider well spacing with a solvent-aided process (SAP) enhances production and reduces the steam/oil ratio (SOR). Compared with a steam-alone process or SAGD, fewer well pairs are required to drain a given reservoir pool.
