Preparation of Anion-exchange Resin Containing Benzimidazol Groups and Adsorption of Platinum Group Metal
Ion-exchange has been turned out to be a promising and potential alternative in the application of reprocessing spent-nuclear-fuel because of organic solvent free and its simplicity. In this study, an anion-exchange resin containing strong-base quaternary benzimidazol groups which act as the exchange sites especially for platinum-group metals was prepared. The adsorption experiments of platinum-group metals in nitric acid solution were carried out, and the adsorption behavior was examined by comparing with a conventional anion-exchange resin such as Dowex 1x8-400 and IRN-78.
