Catalytic Reduction of Carbon Dioxide by Propane III. Effects of potassium as a promoter
Reforming of propane with carbon dioxide using Ni/α-Al2O3 was carried out in a continuous fixed bed reactor. Ni/α-Al2O3 catalyst promoted with potassium showed higher stability to deactivation, and it showed higher conversion of CO2 and propane compared to Ni/α-Al2O3 itself. But catalytic activity decreased with increasing the amounts of potassiun added. TPSR experiments confirmed the decrease of carbon deposition with addition of potassium.
