This paper deals with the modelling of inhibition in microbial growth processes. A new inhibition function is introduced, whose main advantage is its flexibility, i.e. its ability to fit experimental data which corresponds to diverse inhibition patterns, including concave, convex, and linear patterns, as well as patterns with inhibition-threshold.
