Eco-friendly synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using Inonotus obliquus and their antibacterial, antioxidant and cytotoxic activities

A simple and rapid synthetic methodology for gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was developed using the extracts of Inonotus obliquus (Chaga mushroom) at room temperature without the use of deleterious agents. The AuNPs were spherical, triangle, hexagonal, and rod shaped with a mean diameter of 23 nm. The eco-friendly synthesized AuNPs showed excellent antibacterial, antioxidant, and cytotoxicity against the MCF-1 human breast cancer cell line and NCI-N87 human stomach cancer cell line.
