Excretion of glycerol by the marine Chlamydomonas sp. strain W-80 in high CO2 cultures
A Chlamydomonas sp. strain, which excretes glycerol as the major carbon compound, was isolated and designated as strain W-80. The glycerol production was much enhanced by a high concentration of COL, and the final concentration of the product was measured at levels up to 24.9 mM (2.29 g/l).
