Palmitic acid was reduced with H-2 to cetyl alc. on 4 TiO2-supported mono- and bimetallic catalysts at increased pressure. The highest acid conversion (40%) and selectivity to the alc. (50%) was achieved on 5%Cu/TiO2 catalyst.
