Repression of Mycelia Extension from a Support Carrier Containing Immobilized Growing Aspergillus-Oryzae
The rolling of carrier particles containing immobilized Aspergillus oryzae by rotation of the bioreactor (roller bottle reactor and roller drum reactor) resulted in the mycelial strands extending from the carrier surface being wound around the carrier particles. The prevention of mycelial extension from the support carrier led to a decrease in the viscosity of the culture broth, which subsequently resulted in improvement of the oxygen transfer rate within the beads.
