The kinetic study on the electrolytic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene on the hydrogen-storage alloy electrode
The electrolytic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene (NB) was studied by means of a hydrogen-storage alloy electrode. It has been found that hydrogen-storage alloy is an effective electrode for the conversion of nitrobenzene to aniline. The aniline yield and average current efficiency can reach 90%. The beta hydride phase shows catalytic activity for the electrolytic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene, mainly resulting from its ample absorbed hydrogen atoms and favorable structure.
