A new route to electroactive poly(2,2 '-bithiophene-methylene)s from the anodic oxidation of triaryl ether units
The oxidation of thiophene derivatives 2-substituted by a polyether chain leads to polymer films exhibiting stable p-doping and n-doping processes. The electrogenerated films are thought to be a series of poly(2,2'-bithiophene-methylene)s resulting from the elimination of the polyether chains in the course of the electropolymerization reaction.
