A Silicon(IV) Phthalocyanine-Folate Conjugate as an Efficient Photosensitizer
The novel silicon(IV) phthalocyanine axially conjugated with two molecules of folic acid has been prepared and characterized. Its photophysical and photochemical properties and photodynamic activities have also been evaluated. This conjugate shows high photodynamic activities toward HeLa human cervical carcinoma cells (IC50 = 0.071 mu M); this activity is slightly higher than that of HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cells (IC50 = 0.118 mu M).
