Total Internal Reflection Magneto-optical Detection of Dysprosium(III) Ions Adsorbed at Liquid-Liquid Interface
A highly sensitive magneto-optical (MO) measurement technique was evaluated for the detection of interfacial species adsorbed at a flat liquid liquid interface by using total internal reflection. The interfacial adsorption of the paramagnetic Dy(III) ion, which forms a complex with laurate at the dodecane water interface, was detected with an extraordinarily large MO rotation angle.
