Ru-exchanged MMT Clay with Functionalized Ionic Liquid for Selective Hydrogenation of CO2 to Formic acid
Ruthenium-exchanged montmorillonite clay with different catalyst loading was easily synthesized and tested for hydrogenation of carbon dioxide to formic acid. Application of additives like triphenyl phosphine (PPh3), water and ethanol were tested during the reaction. Low catalyst loading, easy product isolation step and seven times catalyst recycling are the major outcomes of this proposed protocol.
