Unprecedented examples of 1-alkyl-1,2,4-triazolium methanesulfonate based Bronsted acidic room temperature ionic liquids were synthesized and characterized. Their catalytic activity and efficiency in recyclability and reusability on one pot synthesis of halide substituted beta-amino carbonyl compounds are reported.
