A new general correlation for the prediction of the boiling vaporization enthalpy of hydrocarbons
The vaporization enthalpy is defined as the difference between the enthalpy of the vapor phase at the equilibrium vapor pressure and the enthalpy of the liquid phase at the same pressure and temperature. In this study, a new empirical method was presented to calculate boiling vaporization enthalpy of pure hydrocarbons with the wide ranges of boiling points (111.65-554.15 K). This equation is a function of boiling temperature, critical temperature, and critical pressure. The presented model is simple to use and tested for 323 organic substances including many groups of compounds. The results show that the proposed correlation is more accurate than the literature methods for pure hydrocarbons in wide boiling range. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
