Densities and viscosities of binary mixtures of ethylmethylketone and 2-alkanols; application of the ERAS model and cubic EOS
Densities and viscosities of binary mixtures of ethylmethylketone with 2-propanol, 2-butanol, 2-pentanol, 2-hexanol, and 2-heptanol, have been measured as a function of composition range at temperatures of 298.15 K, 303.15K, 308.15K, 313.15 K and ambient pressure. Excess molar volumes V-m(E) and viscosity deviations Delta eta were calculated and correlated by the Redlich-Kister equation to derive the adjustable parameters and estimate the standard error. For mixtures of ethylmethylketone with used 2-alkanols, V-m(E) is positive and Delta eta is negative over the entire range of mole fraction. The ERAS-model has been applied for describing the binary excess molar volumes and also Peng-Robinson-Stryjek-Vera (PRSV) equation of state (EOS) has been used to predict the binary excess molar volumes and viscosities.
