Accurate Analytic Formulas for the Far-Field Effective Potential and Surface-Charge Density of a Uniformly Charged Sphere
Simple yet accurate formulae are presented for the far field effective potential and surface charge density of a uniformly charged spherical colloidal particle immersed in a symmetric z:z electrolyte. Unlike previous formulations, these results are valid for all values of kappa a (where kappa is the Debye screening parameter and a is the radius of the particle) and maintain good accuracy for all surface potentials of practical interest (less than or equal to 200 mV).
