A blowing agent (mixt. of NaHCO3 and C(CH2COOH)(2)(OH) COOH) was added (0.2-0.8% by mass.) to low-d polyethylene extruded then to microducts (diam. 9 mm, wall thickness 1.4-1.8 mm). The extrudates had porous cores and solid surface layers at the proper amt. of the blowing agent (0.2-0.4%). The microducts were studied for d., porosity and tribol. properties in contact with an optical micro-cable. They met the quality requirements.
