Corn. rape seed oil-derived biodiesels, a corm gas oil and their mixts. were combusted in a test engine at 2250 and 3000 rpm to study compn. of the off-gases. The pure bi-diesel showed the lowest CO and hydrocarbon emissions but the highest NOx emission. The NOx emission decreased with increasing engine speed and increasing real power of the engine.
