Deposition of titania washcoat membranes on stainless steel plates through sol-gel method
In the present work, macroporous titania membranes were prepared by dip coating via sol-gel method. Acetic acid was added as stabiliser, while poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) was used as the additive. The evolution of microstructure and morphology of the membranes were investigated by XRD, SEM and AFM. It was found that the primary crystalline phase of the as-obtained titania membrane heat treated at 500degreesC/2h was anatase. Different processing parameters, such as the amount of PEG and withdrawal speed played an important role in the microscopic features of the membranes.
