An empirical composition map of critical properties has been discussed for designing Ni-Mn-Ga ferromagnetic shape memory alloys (FSMA) with some recent results. Subtle XRD pattern changes associated with ageing have been found in Ni-Mn-Ga powders. Temperature dependence of elastic modulus and internal friction during cooling for a Ni-Mn-Ga single crystal was presented.
