Equal-Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) is a processing procedure in which samples are subjected to intense plastic strains by pressing through two channels intersecting at an abrupt angle within a die. This paper describes experiments in which high purity aluminum single crystals of two different orientations were processed by ECAP for one pass and the deformed microstructures were examined using optical microscopy and transmission electron microscopy.
