Comparison between methods to characterize the superplastic materials
In this paper, an original method based on results coming from finite element analysis of free forming process is presented to determine superplastic material properties. This method is applicable to strain-rate sensitive material and no deformation geometry hypotheses are required. The proposed method was validated by both constant crosshead velocity tests and constant pressure free forming tests. Experimental activity was conducted using superplastic Pb-Sn60 metallic alloy at room temperature.
