Manufacturing of porous magnesium alloy by pulse electric current sintering process and their compressive properties
Magnesium based porous materials are made by Pulse-Electric-Current Sintering method using chips. Commercial ingot of AZ91D alloy was selected as raw material. The results show that porous materials of various plateau stresses could be made by PECS process depending on sintering temperature. The plateau stresses of the porous materials investigated in this study are in the range from 1.3 to 37.3MPa. Pore ratio is the most effective factor affecting plateau stress.
