Finite element simulation of ceramic powder isostatic pressing process using material parameters for uniaxial compaction
This paper presents the results of finite element simulations of isostatic pressing process using material parameters of a uniaxial compaction in order to fit the material model. This has been done through the use of a Drucker-Prager/cap model within the commercial finite element code ABAQUS(R). For this study, it is simulated the isostatic pressing of ceramic spheres for hip implant stem. The simulations yield to a good agreement with measured manufactured components.
