A study of the wear behavior of TiNiCu shape-memory alloy
The wear behavior of a TiNiCu shape memory alloy against 38CrMoAl steel (nitrided) has been studied in this paper. The results of dry sliding wear test experiment indicated that TiNiCu alloy exhibits better wear resistance than bearing steel GCr15 and equiatomic TiNi alloy as contrast materials. At the same time, the wear resistance of equiatomic TiNi alloy exceeds that of GCr15 steel. The excellent wear resistance of TiNiCu alloy is discussed in term of reversible phase transformation mechanism.
