Melting and fabrication of NiTi shape-memory alloy wires
Nitinol is a very attractive material for medical and non-medical applications because of its unique superelasticity and shape memory property. This paper provides a brief overview on existed technology challenges that commonly addressed for precise control of melting, hot-working and cold-working conditions in commercial production of TiNi shape memory alloy wires, followed by a discussion of some ways to overcome these challenges.
