An electrostatic variable energy positron beam is focused into the brightness enhancement section of the positron micro-beam facility by a newly designed Einzel lens. In this way a beam diameter of 1 mm on the first remoderator foil is achieved. An evaluation of the performance of the focusing optics is given. As an example of a remoderation experiment done with this set-up a study of the remoderation properties of a thin WMo foil is presented.
