Excess Volumes and Isentropic Compressibilities of the Binary-Mixtures of Cyclohexanone with Globular Species at T=298.15 K
Densities rho and speeds of sound u of the mixtures of globular species, c-C6H12, c-C6H11CH3, C6H5CH3, and C6H5Cl with c-C6H10O were measured at T = 298.15 K. As a polar and globular molecule, c-C6H10O when mixed with non-polar globular molecules, has excess volumes V-m(E) and isentropic compressibilities K-S(E) which are not as large as expected for the excess enthalpies H-m(E) of polar mixtures. Globularities of the component molecules are so effective that the positive effect due to the breaking of dipolar interaction of c-C6H10O is reduced and the negative effect due to the formation of dipole-induced dipole interaction with aromatic components is also reduced. The values of K-S(E) for all systems have been found to be negative and small.
