Excess Molar Heat-Capacities and Excess Molar Volumes of (Propan-2-Ol, or Butan-2-Ol, or Pentan-2-Ol, or Pentan-3-Ol, or 2-Methylbutan-2-Ol Plus N-Heptane) at the Temperature 298.15 K
Excess molar heat capacities and excess molar volumes determined at the temperature 298.15 K are reported for binary mixtures of (propan-2-ol, or butan-2-ol, or pentan-2-ol, or pentan-3-ol, or 2-methylbutan-2-ol + n-heptane). Excess molar heat capacities show a curve with an inflection point at x (alkanol) > 0.1. This behaviour is discussed in terms of the characteristic hydrogen bonding of alkanols that have a non-linear hydrocarbon chain.
