The standard molar energy of combustion of pure fullerene C-60 was measured using a static-bomb isoperibolic macrocalorimeter : Delta(c)U(m) degrees = -(25965 +/- 12) kJ . mol(-1). This result was confirmed by recovery of carbon dioxide in the combustion products.
