Prediction of viscosity of glucose and calcium chloride solutions
Data for the viscosity of glucose and calcium chloride solutions in relation to concentrations and temperatures have been gathered from the literature. The obtained data were analysed and fitted into Andrade's semi-empirical equation, exponential law and power law. It was found that the power law was not suitable for correlating the viscosity of both solutions with their concentrations and temperatures. Fitting data into Andrade's semi-empirical equation and exponential law earned the following equations for viscosity prediction: For CaCl2 mu = 10(-3) x 0.7934 x exp(0.3719 m) x exp(2068.075/T) For glucose mu = 10(-3) x 2.0041 x exp(-0.4324 m) x exp(242.58m+1889.3/T) (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd.
