Study of intrinsic parameters (IPs) for Cr3+ ions in fluorine crystals
In this study, superposition model (SPM) parameters consisting of intrinsic parameters (IPs) (b(2)) over bar (R-0) and t(2) and the reference distance R-0, have been obtained for Cr3+ ions in flourine ligand systems (Cr-F combination) by combining the EPR data and the crystallographic data of Cr3+ ions in several crystals. It is shown that the obtained SPM parameters are very effective for the investigations of ZFSPs of Cr3+ centers with different trigonal and tetragonal symmetries. The values of the SPM parameters proposed here may serve as resource to the theoretical investigations of other Cr3+-F systems. (C) 2013 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
