Self-propelled Motor Driven by a Glucose Engine
We developed a catalytic propelled motor using the fuel source glucose, without the addition of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), in an aqueous phase. The motor was composed of a Pt foil and a filter paper with glucose oxidase (GOx). H2O2 was produced by the enzyme reaction of GOx and glucose around the motor. The speed and fluctuation of the motor increased with an increase in the concentration of glucose based on the enzyme reaction.
