Agent-Based Simulation of Dynamic Accretion Processes
A loss-of-coolant accident is a postulated accident in the field of reactor safety research. This scenario presumes that insulation material detaches from plant components. To minimize an infiltration of the insulant into the reactor core, one measure is the retention by sieves. This retention process corresponds to the solid-liquid separation by cake filtration. This process is highly relevant in multiple technical applications. This article introduces a knowledge-based model for simulating the dynamic accretion process of insulation material. By means of a comparison to an existing model the potential of this method is pointed out.
