Fertilizer blends made by mixing lignite ash, sewage sludge, straw chaff or sawdust were tested as substrate for cultivation of spring rape and spring wheat in pot expts. A substantial increase in crop yield was achieved. An increased content of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S in the rape seeds and wheat grains was obsd.
