Photocatalytic Reduction of Uranyl Ions over Anatase and Rutile Nanostructured TiO2
Anatase and ruffle nanostructured TiO2 semiconductor catalysts were prepared by wet-chemical methods and used for the photoreduction of uranyl ions under UV radiation. It was found that there is an obvious difference between their catalytic performances: ruffle TiO2 nanorods give the highest activity per unit surface area, being over twice as active as P25 and 10 times more active than the anatase counterparts.
