We define a higher-dimensional analogue of a (column) reduced polynomial matrix, called a reduced polynomial resolution, as an "exact" sequence of polynomial matrices having the "predictable degree property." A reduced polynomial resolution is associated to any linear time-invariant differential system. It is uniquely determined (up to isomorphism) and provides a number of important integer invariants of the system.
