Effect of corona discharge in air on mortality rate of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enteritidis, Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains in agar basis was detd. at 23 degrees C, 1-20 kJ/m(2) and test sample sweep speed 0.48-96 m/min. The treatment resulted in an increased mortality of the studied bacterial strains (up to 44.9%) except for Bacillus subtilis (0.47-4.28% only), where the discharge-resistant endospores existed.
