Optimization of amine-based CO2 capture from flue gas by flowsheet modification
Process for CO2 capture from flue gases from a coal-fired power station by absorption in aq. soln. of NH2CH2CH2OH (concn. 30% by mass) was modelled in 3 flowsheet configurations to minimize the energy consumption. The split flow improvement gave significant energy savings over the ref. case and allow a decreasing heat duty of reboiler (11,2 or 13,9 %).
