Synthesis and electrical characterization of Ba(Cd1/3Nb2/3)O-3 ferroelectric compound
A new ferroelectric perovskite compound Ba(Cd1/3Nb2/3)O-3 is synthesized by columbite method. X-ray diffraction study confirms the formation of cubic perovskite phase. Temperature dependence of dielectric study showed ferroelectric behavior. Frequency and external electric field dependence of hysteresis area was also evaluated by using the Sawyer-Tower circuit. Scaling relation of hysteresis area < A > against frequency and field amplitude takes a form of < A > proportional to f(1.01)E(0)(2.14). Unsaturated P-E hysteresis loop study shows the leaky nature of the compound. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
