A New Method for Estimating Surface Band Energies of a Semiconductor Electrode in Contact with an Electrolyte Solution
Surface band energies of a semiconductor electrode are a key quantity for knowing the reactivity of electrons and holes, but no unambiguous understanding has yet been obtained about how they are determined when various kinds of electric charges are present simultaneously near the surface. This letter reports that the problem can be clearly solved by working out a new graphical method to estimate surface band energies definitely and consistently under diverse conditions.
