Coking of modified nickel catalysts for prereforming
Ni catalyst was deposited on a La2O3-modified Al2O3 substrate, dry impregnated with aq. solns. of HAuCl4, Pt(NH3)(4)(NO3)(4) or Pd(NO3)(2), calcinated at 400 degrees C for 6 h, studied for structure and sp. surface and finally used for prereforming of MeH to det. its resistance against coke forming on its surface. The deposits consisted mainly of filamentous and shell C. The addn. of Pt and Pd resulted in increasing the catalyst resistance against the coke formation. The literature data on an advantageous action of Au (I. Alstrup et al., 1998; H.S Bengaard et al., 2002) were not confirmed.
