Plum stones were subjected to pyrolysis at 550 degrees C followed by enrichment in N by applying NH3/air mixt. (ammoxidn.) or NO (nitrogenation) and used as a support of Pd catalyst (5% by mass) for hydrogenation of hexene-1 to hexane. Catalytic activity of the systems decreased with increasing nitrogen content in the catalyst support.
