Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray surface layer analysis of a new polymer composite intended for autocatalytic metallization
Com. polyamide-6 was optionally reinforced with staple glass fibers, filled with CuO (15%) and (AcCH=CMeO)(2)Cu (9%), processed by extrusion to granulates and by laser-irradn. (193 nm) and then studied by SEM and X-ray diffraction anal. to det. the chem. compn. of the surface layer of the composite materials. The laser treatment resulted in an increase in the Cu content in the glass fibre-reinforced composite, what is of importance for its metallization.
