1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium thiocyanate (I) and 1-methyl-3 octylimidazoilum bromide ionic liqs. were added to CH2=CHCH=CH2/CH2=CHCN rubber-based compds. vulcanized at 160 degrees C under 3 MPa with S/ZnO and studied for thermal stability at -100 degrees C to 200 degrees C, mech. strength, UV ageing resistance and electrostatic behaviour. The addn. of I resulted in an improvement of antistatic properties of the rubber compds. without any substantial deterioration of mech. properties.
