An Experimental Investigation on the Oxidative Desulfurization of Kerosene Feedstock
A targeted research on the oxidative desulfurization of kerosene with a total sulfur content of 1,600 ppmw was conducted with hydrogen peroxide and formic acid. The influences of various operating parameters, including reaction temperature, hydrogen peroxide/sulfur molar ratio (O/S), and formic acid/sulfur molar ratio (Acid/S), on the desulfurization of kerosene were investigated. The appropriate conditions were found to be the reaction temperature = 60 degrees C, O/S = 5, and Acid/S = 30. The achieved desulfurization of oxidative desulfurization process under these appropriate conditions was found to be 91.8, 97.4, and 99.3% using 1, 2, and 5 extraction stages, respectively.
