EFFECT OF FIRING ON PETROPHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF BEREA SANDSTONE
Berea sandstone is widely used as a model rock for studying fluid flow through porous media. Firing has been a common step in core preparation. Changes in properties of Berea sandstone caused by firing were determined from petrophysical measurements and petro-graphic studies. Results show that firing usually creates more problems than it solves. Use of fired cores generally should be avoided.
