EQUILIBRIUM AND STABILITY OF STATIC INTERFACES IN BICONICAL PORE SEGMENTS
The equilibrium and stability of interfaces largely set the fluid distribution in a porous medium. Here we determine the equilibrium and stability of axisymmetric interfaces, namely head and neck menisci, in biconical pore segments. We also report relationships between capillary pressure, P(c), and mercury volume, V(Hg), for stable interfaces. These results are used in our Monte Carlo simulation of volume-controlled mercury porosimetry.
