Study on decomposition of tetrachloromethane as a model substance in environment of spark discharge plasma
CCl(4) was decompd. in quartz reactor under pulsed spark discharge condition both in Ar and in O(2) (atm. pressure, voltage 12 kV, pulse frequency 30 Hz, brass-W, duralumin -W or Pt electrodes, initial CCl(4) conc. about 2%, gas flow rate 2.95 L/h) to Cl(2) and solid C, as well as traces of C(2)Cl(4) and C(2)Cl(6). In presence of O(2), the formation of C oxides and COCl(2) (traces) was obsd. The conversion degree higher than 90% was achieved in all cases.
